A variety of North Shore small businesses gathered for a two-day gift shopping event, Luxury Expo Chicago, this past week in Northbrook, IL. This inaugural event is the first in a planned series of many future gift expo events aimed at supporting local businesses and giving back to charity.
A portion of the proceeds from the event, organized by Carey Smolensky Productions (CSP), an event and entertainment production company based out of Wheeling, IL, were donated to Front Row Foundation, a charity that puts those with critical health challenges in the front row of their favorite concert, sporting, theatrical event, or any other live event.
“I live life with passion and help others. Luxury Expo Chicago was the culmination of both of these ideals. Guests of the event can browse and purchase unique gift items they enjoy and are passionate about while local vendors and small businesses are showcased and get to raise awareness of their brands, and then money is raised for Front Row Foundation, a charity which has deeply impacted my life,” explains CSP President and one of Front Row Foundation’s founding Board Members, Carey Smolensky.
Local vendors included Mark Narens Artwork, Toffee Break Desserts, Teddie Kossof Salon and Spa, Rod Kadet Ltd., Private Jeweler, independent representatives of Cutco Cutlery and J Hilburn Men’s Clothing amongst others. Vendors displayed a variety of goods ranging from custom-tailored men’s clothing, to unique beauty gifts, to fine cutlery.
“All of these vendors are not only local, but they have amazing products. Having them all together in one comfortable, relaxed atmosphere gives people a different kind of shopping experience. Guests get the opportunity to buy local while enjoying gift shopping again.”
CSP plans to produce three Luxury Expo Chicago events yearly throughout the Chicago area. Plans for the future include expanding this concept to multiple cities across the nation, each showcasing their own area’s small businesses. The next Luxury Expo is planned for April and details will be announced in the upcoming weeks on their website – www.luxuryexpochicago.com. CSP is celebrating over 35 years of event and entertainment production in the corporate and social spheres locally, nationally, and globally.
