Ashley’s Front Row Experience: Celine Dion Concert
Meet Ashley Pearce.
She is a spitfire. Sarcastic, full of life, and a twinkle in her eye, you could pick Ashley out of a crowd in seconds.
Ashley has not had an easy life. She was born with Cystic Fibrosis and has suffered all of her life with this illness. She has been hospitalized multiple times due to complications from this disease. Two years ago her lung condition became so bad that she was flown from Eureka, CA to Sacramento where her CF team was located. The disease had progressed so much that her team could no longer care for her and sent her to Stanford Medical Center where she was put on the list for a double lung transplant. She was there for almost two months and almost died numerous times.
Finally, in mid January of 2014, her family gathered to say goodbye. While waiting for the lung transplant, her heart and kidney were failing and she now needed a heart/ double lung/ kidney transplant. Her family thought her angel wings were going to be handed to her. They were devastated. Then, the next morning her doctor came to her family with the news that “potential” donor organs had been found! That evening Ashley began her journey of receiving the gift of life. She spent the next five long months at Stanford recovering from the transplant with a few “bumps” in the road.
After five months, Ashley went home and is doing well. She is living life as she has never lived in years. Her family says that Ashley is like no other. She has the will to live and has fought hard all of her life to be here today. She NEVER complains and really gives her family the strength to help her.
Ashley’s passion is to be a Mom. Since she will never be able to have a child of her own, so she chose to look into adoption. She is now in the process of adopting the little girl that she has raised since she was seven days old. Her name is Naomi and she just turned one! UPDATE: Since Ashley’s event, Ashley has officially adopted Naomi!
Since the transplants, she has a regimen of medicines she takes daily. She has weekly labs to make sure all her levels are okay, and she has to travel to Stanford every couple of months to make sure she is doing well and get evaluated by the doctors and CF team. It is not an easy undertaking, and Ashley has done it all with a smile on her face.
Lori, Ashley’s aunt, heard about Front Row Foundation and wanted so badly for Ashley to see her favorite singer in the world, Celine Dion. Lori wrote to Front Row and said, “I would say one major thing that got her through her battle with CF was Celine Dion’s music. If Ashley was laying in the hospital bed, that was her first request. Throughout her transplant, we would put on Celine’s music to soothe her. I truly believe it gave her the power to fight. She followed Celine since she was about the age of 8. She also knew that Celine herself had lost her niece to CF and that was an inspiration to her.”
When Front Row Event Directors heard about Ashley and her journey, plus her love for Celine, they knew they had to get right to work to make this dream come true!
Ashley’s family was elated when they found out she was selected as a Front Row recipient and wanted to do something special to surprise her with the news. Her whole family got together and created a scavenger hunt full of clues to lead her to the big surprise: Celine Dion tickets in Las Vegas – Front Row Style! Check out her surprise unveil here: Surprise unveil-
Ashley decided to bring her sister Lacey to Las Vegas with her. They boarded the plane and met up with Event Directors, Rebecca and Kellie at the Las Vegas airport. After lots of hugs and smiles, all the ladies headed to the Vegas strip to get Ashley and Lacey checked into their hotel.
Ashley and Lacey stayed at the beautiful Caesar’s Palace. Home of the Colosseum where Celine Dion plays. The hotel lobby was huge and full of life! We all walked in and stared in awe at the beautiful decor. Once checked in, Ashley and Lacey needed some much needed beauty rest for their big day.
The next day, Rebecca and Kellie showed up at Ashley’s hotel room and both Ashley and Lacey looked stunning! They were ready for a night on the town. But first, there must be gifts! A girl can never be too spoiled 🙂
After some chit-chat and pictures, it was time to get this show on the road! We were off and ready for the Best Day Ever. \o/
First stop was dinner at the amazing Nobu Restaurant. Special seating arrangements put us right next to the sushi bar where we watched the masters at work. What a cool experience! We dined on the most amazing sushi, hearts of palm salad, and black cod miso. Dessert was a mouthwatering masterpiece. The whole experience was a night to remember. Ashley sipped sake and we all exchanged stories and laughter. It was a true girls night out.
It was time for the main event. We walked over to the Colosseum where Celine would be performing. Both Ashley and Lacey were like little giddy school girls. After lots of pictures and screeches of delight, it was time to go in and find our seats.
As we made our way down front, both Ashley and Lacey had a skip in their step. The look in their eyes when the usher showed us to our seats was priceless. Right up front. So close you could touch the stage. Everyone was counting down the minutes until Celine took the stage.
The curtain opened and there she was – front and center. With amazing poise, and a voice unlike any other performer, Celine Dion rocked the house.
Celine performed classic hits like Where Does My Heart Beat Now, Because You Loved Me, Beauty and the Beast, and of course, My Heart Will Go On. She changed from one gorgeous outfit to the next and danced the night away. What a performance! At the end of the concert – she invited people to come up close to the stage and both Ashley and Lacey were the first to jump at the chance! No one will forget this night. It truly was the Best Day Ever. \o/
It was time to say goodbye to Celine and the Colosseum. But Ashley and Lacey were in for one more surprise! We all walked through the lobby of Caesar’s Palace and outside where a 14-person stretch limo was waiting for Ashley and Lacey to take a private tour of the Las Vegas Strip!
Our first stop was the famous Las Vegas sign! Sipping on champagne and watching all the lights and people go by, we truly were having a blast. When we got to the sign, we hopped out of the limo and took a few pictures.
Our next stop was the fountain show at the Bellagio hotel. So beautiful!
Our last stop was Old Vegas. We checked out the huge screen and some of the old casinos. What a great piece of history.
With our hearts full and smiles permanently on our faces, we loaded back into the limousine. When we arrived back at the hotel, it was time to say goodbye. There were lots of hugs and it was truly a Front Row Experience no one will ever forget. \o/
